It is best to focus your chat around a theme or topic so that it gives the participants context. You can choose anything that interests you: a cultural, theme, a unit of study, a verb tense, ect.
Create 10-15 questions that center around your theme. Label each question Q1, Q2, Q3, etc. Make sure to include the hashtag #spanstuchat at the end of each question. Please email/share a copy of your questions for us. Optional: Make your questions stand out. We use Canva.com, Google Drawings, and Pic Collage on iPad to add color and backgrounds. This makes it easy for late joiners to find the questions.
We recommend that you schedule your tweets through Tweetdeck.com By doing so, you will be able to encourage and greet participants without having to worry about pushing out questions. Schedule each question 5 minutes apart. Don't forget to schedule a welcome tweet and a good bye tweet!
It is go time! During the chat, greet your participants and participate as you like. If you see the conversation lagging, engage your chatters by asking questions, providing your own answers, and commenting on others' answers. Have fun!
